SwapThing is thrilled to announce the launch of a new
version of the web site. You will notice the different look
right away, but there is so much more to the new SwapThing
than a cosmetic change:
- The categories now have their own
content-rich spotlight pages
with featured items, articles and news feeds.
- The new Profile View page allows
swappers to manage the items they are listing, monitor swap
offers and questions, and customize the information about
themselves that they wish to share with other swappers. Now
if you are interested in an item you can see everything the
owner is offering and seeking.
- The process of making a swap offer has
been streamlined to make it much simpler to manage
transactions and complete a swap.

Up to now, SwapThing has only been available in the United
States and Canada, but we are proud to announce that we have
extended our reach around the globe. We have opened up our
unique barter system to 31 new countries, including Mexico,
Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the EU nations
(France, United Kingdom, Germany, etc.). While language
support is still a future endeavor, the newly added
functionality allows swappers to see where items and
services are located, as well as display their own items
with the proper country code.
Having problems swapping your items? Do you have a detailed
description and a photo posted of your item? Listings with
thorough descriptions and pictures are moving faster because
the swappers are able to get a better idea of what they are
getting. Make these simple adjustments and increase the
possibilities of making a swap transaction.
