For those swappers residing in the United States, we wish you a safe
and happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
Though you may have been seeing the presence of Christmas in the malls since the
Halloween decorations came down, the big shopping season for the winter holidays
unofficially begins the day after Thanksgiving. If you don't like taking your life in your
own hands and dealing with the mobs at the malls, don't forget that there are excellent
items up for swap and/or sale on the SwapThing site. Enjoy the peace
and quiet by accomplishing your shopping needs at the comfort of your own home or office.
We would love to hear about your successful swap stories, and they just might be
included in the growing press coverage of SwapThing. Share your experiences on the
contact form or leave a comment on the SwapThing blog. You just might win a
SwapThing t-shirt and/or free swap transactions. If you are a service provider,
this could be a great opportunity to highlight your business.
Speaking of SwapServices, we want to remind you that while you may choose to list your service as a skill.
Even if you are a professional service provider, you will get far less out of your listing than if you choose
a service listing. With a service listing you can highlight your business, the location, and your reputation.
Skills, like items, are anonymous, whereas SwapService listings serve as an advertisement for your service to
swap or sell. For some of our service providers, the SwapServices page becomes their personal webpage, getting
them higher results in the search engines for local search.
We are past the half-way mark of our beta and are working hard on the Swap Process, a new profile view and
message center, and enhancements to the SwapCircles. Got anything that you want to see? Drop us a line and let
us know how we can make your swap experience better.
Happy Swapping!
