Meet Swappy - our loveable mascot who likes to get
involved in all types of swaps! We are excited about our new
look. Drop us a line and let us know what you think.
Speaking of new, we have improved our photo uploader to
handle images 5-times larger than the original
functionality. This will allow users to include much clearer
images of the items in their listings. So don't forget to
include an image when creating your items lists... listings
with a photo are much more likely to be swapped!
If you want to swap with other users who live locally
and/or share the same hobbies and interests as you, then do
not hesitate to create your own SwapCircle. This is an
excellent way develop a community and transact with trusted
users who have something in common with you. For example,
members of a youth sports organization can join a SwapCircle
so you all can swap clothing and equipment your kids have
outgrown... we all know how quickly children grow and lose
interest in their hobbies! SwapCircles can be based on any
type of interest from scrapbooking to knitting and baseball
cards to model trains. And, as a bonus, all this month we
are offering free swaps to anyone who creates a new
SwapCircle with 10 or more users within it.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our
post-holiday contest to determine the most unique (putting
it nicely) gifts out there. The nominees were tabulated, the
votes were counted and we have a winner. The top prize of a
SwapThing T-shirt and 5 free swaps goes to tracerace
(the Boob Cooler). The two runners-up, jubilentmom
( a half-used, travel-sized bottle of Scope) and bek_wek
(steak knives), with both receive 5 free swaps.
Congratulations to you all.
We are currently working on exciting new changes to the
item listings that will make SwapThing even easier to use.
Be sure to visit the site regularly and discover how we are
listening to your comments and turning them into positive
changes on the site.
Happy Swapping!
